How to incorporate Golden Globe style into your everyday life

SO many delicious trends and looks at the Golden Globes! To be honest, I don’t always watch the show- the red carpet interviews are enough for me. I wish I had somewhere to wear these gorgeous gowns, but will have to settle for bits and pieces of the trends. Here’s how you can steal the essence of their look without a full-length gown!

Show Some Skin!

Lea Michelle showed some skin in a gorgeous Marchesa illusion dress. Take this look to real life by pairing a sheer dress over a slip or sheath.

Pearly Gates

Jessica Chastain from “The Help” looked dreamy in a white Givenchy couture pearl dress. Steal the pearl factor by layering multiple different sized strands and pair with simple earrings.

Not-so-mellow Yellow

Maria Menounos wowed the crowd in a shocking yellow dazzler. Bring the volume down a notch and add a brightly colored scarf, hat or color blocked shoe to your wardrobe this season.

Laura Dern glittered in a deep emerald gown. Snag this look by incorporating deep jewel tones in either nail polish or a silky tie-neck blouse.

Lots of Fish in the Sea

Fishtails were all the rage! Sofia Vergara, Elle Macpherson and Julianne Moore all flaunted this look. Copy and edit their style by pairing a high-waisted skirt that has a longer hemline in the back with a fitted, tucked-in top.

She’s On Fire

Red lips and frocks were prevalent throughout. Angelina Jolie donned her typical but classic ruby red lips, and stars such as Reese Witherspoon and Emma Stone selected shades of red to breeze down the red carpet. Fire it up with a matte red lip or ruby gloss and match it with a red pencil skirt or red structured satchel.

Go Naked!

There was color, and there was…the absence of color. Flesh-toned dresses were popular with the nominees. Sarah Hyland, Kate Beckinsale, and Kristen Wiig all dressed up to look undressed. Enjoy this look with a pair of nude heels (staple in every closet). With bare legs, nude heels make your stems look endless by elongating your legs.
