Guys, just don’t even read this one. THIS post is for the ladies.
Alrighty…gals. I would venture to say at least 80% of you have peach fuzz. You know, that super fine hair that covers your cheeks. It isn’t a beard. I repeat- you do not have a beard. To get technical- this is actually called vellus hair and is generally less than 2mm long and not connected to a sebaceous gland. Terminal hair, which is the stuff that beards are made from, is related to hormone levels and has a different texture. There. Now are you happy that you don’t really have a beard?
Ok, on to the solution to this peach fuzz. There is a brand spanking new device out there that delivers an in-home dermaplaning session. (Dermaplaning is a procedure used by estheticians to remove peach fuzz and exfoliate the skin).
DERMAFLASH is a handheld, rechargeable device that uses a special sonic vibration and a super sharp edge to removed dead skin cells, vellus skin (the fuzz!) and built-up debris. I was absolutely stunned at how smooth my skin felt. My makeup went on ten times easier, and my skin looked brighter. When you have peach fuzz, it grabs makeup and tends to make it look cakey. I was able to brush on loose powder easily, and it looked totally different than before I used the DERMAFLASH.
The benefits that I personally discovered:
- Smoother skin (like, crazy smooth)
- Makeup application is SO much easier and looks incredible
- Skin looks more luminous because the fuzz and dead skin cells are removed
- Lotion and serums soak in much better and are more effective
Here is a before and after to show exactly what the effect is like (PS- this isn’t me…):

How it works:
Charge the DERMAFLASH for 5 hours prior to use.
Wash your face with the included Prep facial cleanser and pat dry.
Insert an Edge into the DERMAFLASH.
Hold your skin taut with your free hand and work in short, feathery strokes with the DERMAFLASH. Work from the cheekbone in, but don’t go over any areas more than once.
Apply Soothe hydrator to face.
The whole process takes 5-10 minutes from start to finish, and once/week is recommended.
I absolutely love this device. Some gals might be a little leery about the process, because there are a lot of old wives tales and myths out there. Here are the common misconceptions about the Dermaplaning procedure in general:
Is it true that dermaplaning makes your hair grow back faster? NO! Same rate.
Is it true that hair grows back darker? NO! Same color.
Seriously, am I shaving? NO! Shaving is meant for the terminal hair, DERMAFLASH is meant for vellus hair and dull skin cells.
This is only for people with blonde hair, right? Nope! It is safe for all skin types, colors and ages.
Want it? The kit retails for $189, which includes the Prep, Soothe, device and 6 Edges. Grab it here at Neiman Marcus and get free shipping! I try to only recommend products that I have used, and only post about the ones that I LOVE. Peach fuzz has been a thorn in my side for ever, and I believe that this product (which is the first of its kind) can take care of the problem that so many women face. I tested this product for over 2 weeks to make sure that the results were amazing!
Let me know your thoughts! Have you done dermaplaning before? How do you currently get rid of peach fuzz? Let me know!

Thanks to child birth…I think we all have it. I always worry it will grow back faster. Great review!
