Wednesday Wonder: Jelt Belt

I used to look at photos of models in magazines and couldn’t understand how they perfected that t-shirt and jeans look. I mean, it seems so easy for others, but I always had a belt buckle marring the perfection of the All-American outfit. I thought maybe it was because I had a long torso and always needed a belt to keep my pants up. Maybe other people don’t wear belts? Maybe they have some magic belt that didn’t have a buckle?

I attended an event a year or so ago and received a Jelt Belt in my goodie bag (thanks Alison Ray of So Chic Life!). It was a little sporty for my taste- I tend to gravitate towards edgier pieces- but I wanted to give it a spin anyways. More than a year later, this accessory has maintained a permanent place around my waist.

The secret of this miracle gadget is the grippy inner gel. Most belts hold up pants just around the loops, but this acts similar to a strapless bra. It grips the entire way around, holding your pants up without bunching or slipping. The buckle is a plastic locking mechanism- super easy to attach and invisible under even the thinnest of shirts. I am sold.

It comes in four different colors- Modern Black (pictured above), Retro Stripe, Sporty Blue (on me)  and Denim Blue (on my wish list). Sizes are either S/M (26-30 inch waist) or M/L (30-36 inch waist) or L/XL (36-40 inch waist) and priced at $29.95. For all you travelers out there, you can leave this on during airport security checks. It is also eco-friendly, using 100% recycled elastic. What’s not to love?

How do you keep your pants up? (Umm…I mean this in a strict sartorial way, of course…) Would this work in your wardrobe?

Awww thanks!! I have seriously worn it almost every day since I received it- a long-overdue post! I always looked like I was smuggling something under my shirt with my other belts 😉

Thanks Alison! I adore mine, they are perfect for those of us with long torsos. My pants always used to slide down no matter what belt I was wearing- not now!

Its like you read my thoughts! You appear to grasp so much approximately this,
such as you wrote the e-book in it or something.
I believe that you simply can do with a few p.c. to force the message home a
little bit, but other than that, this is wonderful blog.

A fantastic read. I will definitely be back.
