I am sure by now you have heard of the Marie Kondo method of organizing. KonMari, the phrase Kondo coined to describe her lifestyle brand that inspires people to choose joy and complete their tidying adventures, has taken cluttered homes by storm. Her four books have sold millions of copies, and she even has a Netflix series that so brilliantly dropped on New Years Day. I am trying to organize my own home, maybe not to her standards, but kicking out the clutter and ushering in the joy that clean countertops have. These are the top home organizing items on Amazon currently. I figure I need a little assistance in order to keep everything organized for more than just a day!
If you are like me and was wondering when Mrs. Kondo would come out with her own organizational boxes, baskets or containers, spoiler alert: she already did. The “Hikidashi Boxes” are apparently sold in sets of three for $89. EIGHTY NINE DOLLARS FOR BOXES. They were available for pre-order in July and reportedly shipped in September. Oddly enough, I can’t find anywhere online that actually sells them, including her website. Maybe others decided that $89 boxes didn’t spark more joy than the ones that their shoes came in.
