I love diamonds. I love fake diamonds even more. I told my husband NEVER to buy me diamond earrings.
Sound silly? Well, I would have a total panic attack if I ever lost a diamond earring and I don’t need that kind of pressure in my life. I just lost my favorite fake pair and I still want to cry about it months later. So, I guess I might not be the typical girl since “Cubic zirconium is a girl’s best friend…” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
What I DO love is the new gem trend in jewelry- druzy!
What is this beautiful gem you ask? Druzy is when tiny quartz crystals form on/within a stone. Have you ever seen the inside of a geode? Yep, druzy. It comes in all sorts of brilliant colors and most reflect light so they shine like the top of the Chrysler Building.
So, where can you find it??!
I just purchased these on Etsy for around $35 and I couldn’t be happier with them. I would MUCH rather rock these than a teeny tiny pair of diamond studs. They are freeform gold-dipped pale druzy dangles, a complete and total statement earring (which, you heard it here first, statement earrings are the new statement necklace). They aren’t nearly as heavy as I would have thought either. The store Little Sixty has amazing pieces and the owner packages them beautifully.
I also purchased this pair for myself for Valentine’s Day, which should be arriving any day now (yes, I buy my own Valentine’s Day presents):
These are Rose Gold Druzy Studs, which will most likely become my go-to daily pair of earrings. The cost? $30.50. You can find similar items in the Etsy shop Walk on the Moon.
What are your thoughts on these pieces? Have you seen other druzy jewelry that you are in love with? Buy yourself a pair for Valentine’s Day like I did 🙂
