Halloween Costume Review & Giveaway: AMI Clubwear

I am 33. I have two kids. Those are both indications that the whole sexy nurse costume is probably not going to fly in my world anymore. But I don’t want to dress like a nun (no, not a sexy nun) either. I was a little nervous when AMI Clubwear approached me to review their costume selections. I panicked, thinking…did they mistake me for a 23 year old? Is there a “all dressed up with lots to drink…” blog out there that they confused me with? I then took a deep breath and hit their site.

We have a family party to attend where everyone dresses up, and I of course don’t have a thing to wear! Although there is an abundance of sexy nurse costumes on the site (which I say if you’ve got it flaunt it), I was pleasantly surprised at the DISNEY adult costume selection! Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, Belle, Cruella, all my childhood friends are here! One awesome feature- they offer plus size costumes as well.

I made sure to check out the sizing when ordering my costume- I usually wear a small but ordered a medium this time (because I actually looked at the size chart instead of taking a shot in the dark). The costume fit perfectly, and yes- it was a bit of a sexy Maleficent, but hey- Angelina is past my age and she is rockin’ it just fine. I paired the costume with opaque tights and black patent leather Mary Jane’s and truly loved the look. The costume was incredibly high quality- no stuck zippers or loose threads. I am SO excited to wear this out, and of course get crazy with eye makeup.

As for my little gal? Charlotte is Sleeping Beauty (costume purchased at Costco for $12). In the photos, she was a little intimidated by my horns- I don’t blame her, they are pretty bad ass if I do say so myself. Call me crazy (and no one who knew me in my 20s would ever guess) but I like dressing up with my kids! They have a blast with it.

Besides costumes, I didn’t realize AMI Clubwear offers cute sweater dresses and accessories. I am all about finding unique sources for my wardrobe, and pair one of their dresses with leggings and you have an inexpensive, cozy tunic! Sweater dresses start at $17.99. How about a plaid scarf? $14.99!
