Fit to be Tied

Anyone else out there still mystified about the correct usage and placement of scarves? I have dozens of them- mainly because every time I see one I think it is a GREAT new accessory…but um…I haven’t worn any of them because I am officially scarf-challenged. I am giving it another shot, though. Want to know why? Don’t laugh, but my son has a habit of puking all down the front of any outfit that I put on. Cute new cable knit sweater dress? PUKE! Adorable leopard A-line shift? VOMIT! Sweet jewel-toned blouse? HURL!

So, my fix if you are out and about? Scrub/rinse off the worst of it, throw on an “in case of emergency” scarf, and get on with life. Disgusting, I know, but what are you supposed to do if your kid has left a bowling ball-sized stain right down the front and you don’t carry a back-up outfit in your purse?

Here are my favorite finds:

Leopard

Express Infinity Scarf in Leopard- $29.90 (Buy 1, Get 1 50% off)
Tolani Infinity Scarf- $89

The Infinity Scarf takes all of the guesswork out of it- loop it around your neck twice and VOILA! No dangling ends, no weird fringe to deal with. DONE! Apparently it is a favorite of super-stylish mom Jessica Alba as well, but hers costs at least 3 times as much as the piece from Express.
P.S.- I consider leopard a neutral.

Polka-dot

Shannon Polka-dot Scarf- $9.95 AffordableScarves

Jill Camel Dot Scarf- $29.95 SendtheTrend

Hello Polka-dots! First one, a steal- one under $10! Second, this was the Lucky Deal of the Day this past week, but in a different (sold out) color. This beauty is still available, though. Great colors that go with fall, subtle nod to the polka dot trend without spending the $450 that Mr. Jacobs is asking for this:

Marc Jacobs Polka-dot Scarf $450

Also, Katie Holmes (I love her for her style, not taste in husband…and who didn’t love Dawson’s Creek?!) is a big fan of the polka-dot scarf, although I am sure it is a bit pricier than $30:

Stripes

Here are two scarves…scarily similar except for material, but what a price difference!

Can you guess which is $10.99 and which is $395? Me neither. The top scarf if Michael Kors for $395 on Net-a-Porter, and the second is TrendsBlue for $10.99 on Amazon.
