I am LOVING the fall trends this year, but not loving the $ that is associated with them. One of my favorite magazines list three budget levels for each season. Umm…I don’t really have a $2,000 budget for each season, much less each year. Let’s go with $100. I usually grab a few key pieces to get around investing in a whole new wardrobe.
The Colors- COBALT or OXBLOOD
Thrilled. I just love Cobalt, but amazingly I don’t own one piece of clothing in this hue. I hit up H&M today and saw the perfect accessory for fall that rang in under ten bucks. Want to make it an infinity scarf? Check out my how with my 30Second Mom tip!

As for Oxblood? I picked up a cute maxi dress from target.com for $15 the other day. I think it was a one day deal; regular price is $24.99 (still not too shabby). I am thinking of pairing it with a cream cable knit cardigan and ankle boots.

The Metal- COPPER
Affordable, versatile and having cool oxidation properties, copper is one chic metal. Try Essie’s new line of mirror metallic polish in Penny Talk. It is priced around $8, but you can get $3.50 off a $10 purchase from Ulta with the coupon below. Also, if you have a Klout score over 45, you can claim a perk for a free polish! (If you think Klout is for suckers, ignore it. All I know is they give me a bunch of free stuff!)
The Animal Print- PYTHON
Of course leopard is still in (has it ever really gone out?) but python is giving leopard a run for it’s money. This lovely combo of greys and black really gives you the latitude to mix it up. My suggestion? Go for a necklace, belt or clutch to give your LBD a little kick!

The Material- LEATHER or LACE
Ok. Here’s where you could go two different ways on this with the leather: A- Save your pennies and go faux. B- Investment piece. I am on the hunt for a pleated faux leather skirt in my size similar to the one from Oasis below.
As for the lace, I adore a full lace dress! It can be worn with a cardigan to dress it down, or killer heels for an evening out on the town. Just make sure to balance the sheerness with a more modest cut. Lace tights are always a winner in my book as long as the outfit is fairly neutral!
