Sometimes you just need a little break from the everyday routine but don’t have enough time (or funds) for a full-on vacation. Why not plan a staycation minutes from home in a resort setting- no battling through crowds at the airport, no wasting time traveling, no cramming a week’s worth of clothing into a bag the size of a shoe box.
The Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, located 30 minutes northwest of Chicago, is a true staycation destination. You definitely feel the relaxation that only getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city can provide- with 175 acres, this sprawling suburban property includes all of the amenities onsite that you need. Since they just completed a $28M renovation, the look and feel is modern, luxurious and convenient.
Here is a sample itinerary to get the most out of your staycation:

Imagine not having to arrange cabs, drive around, figure out where to go. Just relax!
My husband and I stayed the night at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort a few weeks ago after sampling Three Embers new Summer Menu. Every bite was delicious, and many of the items were locally sourced from their on-site garden! Of course, one of my favorite items was their bread, handmade every day and served with a side of homemade honey butter- yes, I wanted to just use my spoon and eat the extra butter from the ramekin, but….Media Dinner. Not appropriate. So I put it in my purse for later (just kidding).
Here was the tasting menu from dinner, which are all currently available:
Honey Badger Glazed Pork Belly- miso sabayon, pickled blueberries, bitter greens
Grilled Farm Vegetables- tomato jus, shrimp, basil
Alaskan Halibut- risotto, charred leek, preserved lemon
Veal Tenderloin- milk poached, ricotta dumpling, mushroom
Dessert Duo of Chocolate Pave and Honey Creme Brulee
Also, there are SO many great specials at this resort. From a Summer Staycation special that includes breakfast, wine and resort credit to an Unlimited Play Package for the golf-obsessed, Lincolnshire Marriott makes an incredibly affordable place to get away for a few days.
Grab your package now- whether it is with kids or without, you will LOVE the relaxation that comes along with leaving the city behind!
Disclosure: I received dinner and a stay at the Lincolnshire Marriott for review purposes, all opinions are honest and my own.
