Mother’s Day Gifts

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are honest and my own, as always.

What. To. Get. Mom. This is what is running through most everyone’s heads at the beginning of May. What I have found is that there are as many gift ideas as there are types of moms: unlimited. Try to find something that solves a problem, or something she would love but would *never* buy for herself. Or something clever/comical. Or if she has EVERYthing, something she can consume. Or an experience. As long as you put a little thought into it and connect with her, you are golden. Here are a couple of Mother’s Day gifts that will put a smile on her face.

Something She Would Never Buy For Herself

I have never purchased a luxury face cream for myself. All of my lotions and potions that I buy come from Walgreens. Would I loooooove to try one of those gorgeously packaged, celeb-hyped creams that so many swear by? Um…yes. And I am not ashamed to admit it. But there are a lot of other expenses on my list that take priority. Like food. And gas (at $5/gallon, I have cut out quite a few luxuries!).

Charlotte Tilbury’s name is synonymous with luxurious beauty. I had heard about her line many times, but had never tested any of her products. She is a LEGEND in the makeup world, having worked in fashion shows, magazine shoots, and high-end product development. What I love most about her line is that she creates for every age. If you take a look at her website, she has the whole range!

I sampled Charlotte’s Magic Cream, an iconic product that has insane reviews. And….it is truly magic. It was originally created to prep model’s skin before runway shows, and it truly plumps and hydrates better than any other moisturizer I have tried. Also, the jar is gorgeous- the perfect little (useful) bauble to have on your shelves!

Something Clever/Something She Can Consume

My parents have wine and cheese most evenings. Since they are retired and their favorite thing to do is watch the sun set, they create a magical cocktail hour each evening on their back porch that overlooks the lake.

I used to buy them wine, but they would save the wine I bought them for a special occasion. I wanted to give them something that would add to their experience, but they would feel comfortable consuming right away.

Well, since I live in Illinois and border Wisconsin and they are THE capital of cheese, it seemed like the perfect gift! You can create a cheese bouquet with sliced Wisconsin cheese and various cured meats, breadsticks, nuts and pickled vegetables. This is an IG-worthy idea sure to impress mom.

Also, a cheese-focused brunch is a dream come true. Find tons of recipes at WisconsinCheese.com

Gouda and Berry Compote Purses

Marinated Shrimp, Feta and Cucumber Salad

Strawberry Mascarpone Tart

Whatever you decide to get mom this Mother’s Day, finding ways to connect is most important. Whether you are in person, FaceTime, or a phone call, she will feel loved!
