Day to Night Style in 1 Easy Step

As a mom and digital media gal, I am juggling kids and informal meetings during the day but need to hit up events at night. I also have no time to change or think up a new style. This is why I came up with a way to go from day to night style in one easy step!

I have learned to invest in transition pieces, meaning those that can span both seasons and formality levels. My favorite trick is to use a dress and add to it- meaning, either put a skirt over the dress and use it as a shirt, or pop on a shirt and use the dress as a skirt. Get it?

Here is how I transition from daytime to night by simply taking off my sweater.

The Outfit Details

As for
accessories, I am SO into statement earrings lately (post to come
focused JUST on this new fabulous fad, so stay tuned). These can
transform daytime dress to nighttime night-out-ready in a second. These stunners are from Park Lane– my fabulous friend Julyn gave them to me; they are so J. Lo and I love it!

I grabbed this bag from Ella Louvi in
The Glen, an amazing boutique that I head to every week. The best part
about this bag (outside of the unique shape) is that it converts from a
cross-body to a traditional purse by just adjusting the strap. As a mom,
I only carry cross-body bags when with my kids so I have both hands
free (if you have met my high energy kiddos, you understand why). This
purse has a cute turnkey lock which keeps it secure during the day and
adds a little charm for night. It retails for around $50, such a perfect
piece!

The dress that I am wearing is from Target, and I love the simple design. The back scoops down, so I paired it with The Bra Lab St. Tropez back strap. If you haven’t heard of this fabulous company, get the details in my post here!

My
boots are over-the-knee faves from years ago, when OTK boots were
considered Pretty Woman territory. They double as tights, providing a
little warmth during these chilly winter months.

Love the transition Cheryl!!! Black and White anything is so perfect for both day and night. It's amazing how the little added black sweater changed the whole entire look.
