Fall Festival Fashion at Ravinia

When most people think of festival season, sultry summer days come to mind. Me? I am more of a fall festival fan- more comfortable daytime temps and cozying up with a glass of red and a faux fur throw on a blanket at Ravinia.

If you haven’t been to Ravinia, take a peek at the fall lineup! From Smokey Robinson to Stevie Nicks, TLC to Los Tigres del Norte, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The kids can even get in on the action- Laurie Berkner and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat are both designed for the younger audience.

The tricky part comes when selecting attire for fall festivals. I have gone all in on the boho chic style this summer- flowing, flowery dresses with lace up leather sandals, crown braids and draped jewelry. To take festival fashion into the fall, you can add a few items to your summer selections and keep on rockin’ well into October.

Floral Dress + Army Jacket + Fringe Crossbody + Fedora

My favorite way to transition a floral maxi is to add a mid length army jacket. This is a versatile wardrobe staple since it can be worn with everything from jeans and sneakers to tulle skirts and heels. I picked mine up at Gap Outlet for a steal, but there are high and low pricepoint versions in most stores this fall. Use keywords utility jacket, army jacket, military jacket, or field jacket when searching.

I have found a ton of floral maxis and midis at Target and Old Navy. I don’t think I paid more than $30 for any of them, and they transition so incredibly well with tights, boots and sweaters.

Grab a fringe crossbody to keep the look updated and hands free to show your moves 😉 There are so many styles- leather, faux leather, suede, and some tassels are removable for the end of the trend.

As for a hat, a felt or wool fedora feels so fall! Pair with undone waves- I use the L’oreal Air Dry line because it is lighter than some of the surf sprays for my fine hair. I left the ends loose when adding in waves with my T3 wand. You can also do a simple half bun with the The Wrap Up by Beachwaver.

Cheers to Fall Festivals and the fashion that you find!
