Here’s my secret to staying fit without setting foot in the gym- I pack my two kids into a double stroller- a total weight of almost 100 lbs.- and walk the shops at Westfield Old Orchard. I stop at the amazing (heated!) playground so the kids can run, jump and get their giggles out, and I find the best sales while I stroll and they snack.
I was thrilled when I saw signs for Harvest Festival at Old Orchard– I can pick up my favorite seasonal candles at Bath & Body Works, sample some Shake Shack Custard and engage my kids in outdoor fall fun!

Here is the lineup of the event- make sure to bring your kids in costume so they can participate in the costume contests (my kids dress up year ’round, so no real convincing is needed).

Update: There will also be a family photo opportunity- perfect for holiday cards! Make sure to use the hashtag #mumkin when sharing your adorable photos on social media
In addition to these fantastically fun activities, make sure to hit up a few of my favorite places with your kids!
Lunch: Johnny Rockets is a family-friendly restaurant that serves up classic diner fare in a kid-centric atmosphere. You can order milkshakes via the tablet on your table, and they have adorable hats, coloring pages and crayons for the kids.
Learn: The Organic Garden is located right next to the PlaySpace. This urban garden is packed full of gorgeous flowers, organically grown vegetables, herbs and more. I walk my kids around the garden and have the smell each of the herbs to see how they differ, examine vegetables in different stages of growth, and identify foods that we have eaten.
Shopping: Every season, I stop at Bath & Body Works for their scented gentle foaming hand soap; it sets the mood in my house! My fave picks right now for fall are Pumpkin Cupcake and Crisp Morning Air. Pick some up for holiday hosting!
Every winter, I pick up new fleece-lined tights from Francesca’s- they come in black and gray, and are a lifesaver during our frigid Midwest winters.
I am so thrilled that Kate Spade is finally here! Their candy-colored earrings and glitter-speckled bangles are a girl’s best friend.
I hope you shop ’till you drop like my little lady!
See you at Harvest Festival on Saturday the 24th!
Disclosure: I was provided with a Gift Card as a partnership with Westfield Old Orchard. All opinions are honest and my own.
This looks so fun! Hope to meet up for this next weekend 🙂
