One of my absolute favorite things to do in life is throw parties. I adore selecting a cohesive theme, compiling a unique yet approachable menu, and creating an atmosphere that transports guests away from the everyday. For me, this is what life is about- celebrating friendship, meeting new personalities, bringing people together. Inclusivity as opposed to exclusivity, acceptance as opposed to judgement, and simple celebration.

Diner en Blanc, the largest pop up chic picnic in the world, will occur on August 21st, 2015 for the city of Chicago. Guests gather at a location kept secret until the last minute for the sole purpose of sharing a gourmet meal with friends and enjoying an incredible evening in one of their city’s most beautiful locations. With more than 50 cities in over 20 countries consisting of 100,000+ members across the globe, the Diner en Blanc concept truly unites people from an incredibly diverse array of backgrounds to simply celebrate. I could get lost in watching videos from other cities- Shanghai, Kingston, Auckland, Rwanda, Sydney, New York. Each city puts their own cultural and geographical stamp on the event.
Launched in Paris by François Pasquier and a handful of his friends in 1988, Dîner en Blanc – Paris now attracts between 10,000 and 15,000 attendees each year. The location changes every year for every city- this is part of the magic and mystery surrounding this phenomenon.

As a mom, I am thrilled to eat dinner without jumping up from the table every two minutes to get someone milk, clean up a spill, or take someone to the bathroom. I can wear a white dress without the fear of someone wiping a jam-covered hand down the front.
As a friend, I am beyond excited to catch up with my closest gal pals and share a glass of bubbly with them. We all love to dance like it’s 1999, and Diner en Blanc has an amazing post-dinner dance floor.
As a wife, I can’t wait to have a romantic date night with my husband where we get to dine, dance and dress to the nines.
As a fashion lover, I am shopping like a madwoman- no joke, I am importing about 5 items from other countries and visiting vintage boutiques on the daily to complete my look (all on a budget, of course). I love putting different pieces together and see everything contribute to the final ensemble.
As an event planner, I adore the attention to detail- from the tablescapes to the surprise location to the dessert display, I enjoy every minute.
