Carrie Bradshaw's (errr I mean SJP's) New SHOE (and bag) Line!!
Well, the fashion gods are smiling down upon us because Sarah Jessica Parker's gorgeous line of shoes (and bags) is gracing select Nordstrom stores across the country starting late February.
EVERYone knows what a red sole on a shoe means, and how about those interlocking Cs on a bag? How will SJP define and set her new brand apart?
If you think about it, grosgrain is kind of the perfect feminine touch, even if you don't know the back story. When she was little, SJP's family was definitely not in the camp that could afford couture shoes (she described it as "we really didn't have two nickels to rub together"), but her mother made sure she and her sister always had two grosgrain ribbons in their hair. They ironed them every morning, and even had a special bureau dedicated to hair ribbons. I say kudos for incorporating a part of who you are into your product!

In March of last year, she spoke about how her foot doctor told her she basically ruined her feet with all those high heels. In addition to the sky high heel damage, she also sustained injuries during the filming of 2011's I Don't Know How She Does It. She wanted to remain true to her character who couldn't afford expensive shoes, so resorted to Nine West, saying: "So I got shoes from there and the bottom of the shoes aren't leather, they are plastic, so I slipped a couple times, twisted my ankle."
These shoes aren't cheap, but she wanted to make good quality shoes that will last, saying: "I want my shoes to be a part of the world for a long time to come."
The Price Tag
The shoes will run from $195 to $485 and bags will be $375 and under. Compare that to some designer shoes whose prices are inching towards the 1K mark (ahem, red soles, I am talking to you!), these might be just the designer kicks that those of us in the middle class might consider splurging on.
