Wishcraft from Chasing Fireflies: Halloween Costumes Simplified

Dressing up is a big deal in our family. For our third date, my husband and I dressed up as the Spartan Cheerleaders from SNL. I made my own costume because I couldn't find the perfect one, and luckily was able to buy one for my then-boyfriend (although it was still too small, sorry!)

Fast forward 5 years, and we are STILL dressing up, this time for our annual Leahy family Oktoberfest. It was a labor (not so much that I loved) sourcing costumes for the family- the almost impossible search for lederhosen that would fit my 6'5" husband (I had to import them from GERMANY), a mom-appropriate drindl dress for me (um...it wasn't so mom-appropriate when I tried it on and fell apart in seconds), as well as baby lederhosen for my newborn (impossible).

Fast forward 2 more years, add in Chasing Fireflies with their Wishcraft costumes and POOF! Like magic, this year's costume selection was magically simple and exciting. Their sizes range from newborn all the way up to men's XXXL. When I discovered that Chasing Fireflies was a one stop shop for my WHOLE family, I was thrilled.

Now came the task of picking out our costumes for this Halloween season. If you know us, you know that we don't like to do many traditional things in our family. Luckily, Chasing Fireflies has the largest online selection of costumes that I have ever seen! They have over 150 costumes just for babies. Since I am all about themes (of course I believe every party should have one), I decided to pick one of my favorite movies of all time, The Princess Bride.

I selected the Maid Marian for myself, which makes a perfect Princess Buttercup! I also added the Sweet Sparkle tiara (because, let's be honest, women at any age love to wear tiaras...um...hopefully this isn't just me). And yes, this Princess Buttercup is 7 months pregnant. Wouldn't that have been an interesting twist to the movie?

As for Wesley, the Bandido costume was a perfect match, not to mention it came in my husband's size. Figuring out what my toddler should be required some creativity on my part, but I decided upon Inigo Montoya (Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die). The Robin Hood costume was a dead ringer; all I had to add was the Fencing Sword. He had a great time helping pick out the costume and flipping through the flashy catalog. I love the fact that in addition to a vast selection of costumes, they also have every accessory that you could imagine!

What costumes from www.chasing-fireflies.com would you choose?

Disclosure: I was given a gift certificate to Chasing Fireflies in order purchase costumes. All opinions are honest and my own.
