Ta Ta Tangerine; Cobalt Can Stay; Enter: Emerald
"The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.
As soon as I heard the news, I had to physically restrain myself from doing some credit card damage in the name of Emerald Apparel. Not because I have to have it, just because it is a surprisingly tough color to find (done well) and I figured some fabulous pieces should be available. This is officially my favorite Pantone Color of the Year. I embraced Tangerine Tango last year and yeah, it worked. Did it earn a permanent place in my closet as well as my heart? Not so much. You see, emerald is a classic. Emeralds are actually more rare than diamonds, but less expensive.
Let's take a spin through my favorite emerald pieces...budget and mom-friendly, naturally:

My favorite looks can actually be monochromatic, just with varying shades of the same color. Have fun with it!
