Resort Wear- Winter 2011/2012
Instead of yoga pants and a sweatshirt, try:
A sweater dress and leggings/opaque tights. I LIVE in sweater dresses and leggings in the fall and winter. What could be easier? The dress covers your (possibly larger than usual) bottom half, puts matching to a minimum, and allows you to still sit on the floor and play with your little munchkin.

Instead of a hoodie, try:
A knit blazer. This instantly classes up a basic white t-shirt and jeans, but is still comfy and warm.

Instead of all solid basics (I am a victim of wearing the funeral look regularly), try:
Throwing a print in there to mix it up. Try a printed cowl neck shirt under a v-neck sweater. Try a flashy scarf with a monochrome outfit. Try a plaid wool mini skirt or floral chiffon skirt with your favorite chunky knit sweater or turtleneck.

Instead of sneakers, try:
Slouchy boots. I found a great pair last year on overstock.com and wear them with everything since they are the most comfortable things ever- leggings, skinny jeans, tights...the list goes on. They are like Rachael Ray's fringe boots; if anyone cared what I wore, they would be sick of these.

Instead of shoving your hair into a ratty ponytail, try:
A fun (and easy) messy bun. I use Goody spin pins quite often- they do the work of 20 bobby pins, hide easily in longish hair because of different color options, and your hair won't BUDGE for the day. Also, your little one can't yank on your hair- I realized that this is my son's favorite game after seeing fistfuls of hair being ripped out of my head.

Kick it up a notch and revel in the fact that you at least look like you have it all under control!
